Refund & Cancellation Policy
Effective date: August 14, 2026
This policy explains how cancellations and refunds work for ClassLedger's paid plans (Pro and Advanced). It supplements Section 3 of our Terms of Service and should be read alongside it.
1. Payment Provider
Subscription purchases are sold by Polar Software Inc. ("Polar"), a third-party payment provider acting as merchant of record — Polar handles billing, receipts, applicable sales tax/VAT, and the actual processing of any refund we approve. We never hold your card details ourselves. Pro and Advanced plans do not currently include a free trial period; your payment method is charged at the time of checkout.
2. Cancellation
You can cancel a paid subscription at any time from the Billing section of Settings. Cancellation stops future billing but doesn't end your access immediately — your plan remains active through the end of the billing period you've already paid for, then reverts to the free Starter plan.
3. Refunds
Because access continues through the paid period, we don't provide prorated refunds for cancelling partway through a billing cycle, except where required by law. Outside of that, we'll consider a refund on a case-by-case basis for situations like:
- A duplicate or accidental charge.
- A billing error on our part.
- A technical issue that meaningfully prevented you from using the Service during the period charged.
To request a refund, email [email protected] with your account email and the reason for the request. We aim to respond within 5 business days.
4. Chargebacks & Disputes
Payment disputes and chargebacks are handled through Polar as merchant of record. We'd appreciate the chance to resolve any billing concern directly first — please contact us before raising a dispute with your bank or card issuer.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above.
